Paint Landscape is about my paintings and drawings. If you see something you like, get in touch. As a landscape painter, many of my works have a tree or a group of trees that make up a dominant area in the composition. Using a small brush and black paint, draw trees along the horizon line. I have often painted trees I am drawn to what 'might' be on the other side! Before I start, I should mention that the first and EASIEST way to create a complementary underpainting for a green landscape painting is to select one red color (which is green's complement) and use it underneath all of the greens in your painting. There'll be regular posts featuring them, and my thoughts about painting. Use multiple layers and variations in pressure and stroke Bolder shadows (under the central tree and in the foreground) were drawn with shorter, vertical strokes. To Monet's painting “Magpie”. Made from mixed media, cement, and acrylic on panel, the paintings resemble pictographs, simple maps of landscapes with featureless figures and schematized trees that appear to be seen first from a speeding car or train and then transcribed from memory. I'm impressed by the drawings but as a plein air painter and landscape guy I'm not so interested in bark and pine cones. I think it's a wonderful example of how an artist uses minimal colors to create a winter landscape. Trees and figures appear to be hastily drawn, as if to catch, for future reference, an approximate sense of place and location.
